I'd think that someone would maintain a cache of older versions, given how long the older Thinkpads seem to keep humming. EDIT: AMD won't let me link to the actual download. I've searched on the AMD/ATI site... Sotheincompatibledriver caused this issue.

Also after you have modded the driver, go into BIOS and switch display to DISCRETE. I can't find the option to swith on a Discrete Video Drivers (i don't know what is it exactly and didn't find it on the bios)...
