As the title says, When I run Beryl-Manager, the splash screen does not show up, and when I select Beryl in the Window Manager, it reverts back to the KDE one, I tried a standard init boot as well as an initng boot to make sure that the Livna boot up script could check everything and I don't think it made a Like I said, the odd thing is that it is only when there are windows there and more noticeable with Firefox and Thunderbird. I`m wondering now if there is something I may have missed when re-installing the open source drivers, in order to regain the Beryl features? Check This Out

If you see SGI instead, everything's fine. I find that I generally don't use Beryl on that machine much for two reasons, both stemming from the fact that I use my laptop as a note-taking and presentation-giving machine. ATI 9200 Stopped Working. Uninstalled them, rebuilt/reinstalled, no good.

I've tried the open source ones but the frame rates for 3d are poor to say the least. Applications > Add/Remove > Show: All Available Applications > Search: compiz > tic top box 'Advanced Desktop Effects Settings (ccsm) > click apply changes > apply > close. The performance I used to get without FGLRX was always a lot worse than what I'm getting. You have to get beryl running first, and to get beryl running you have to get XGL running. Fast Custom PC's, but what about Eye Candy??? I have no idea why this just happened to me, but all I did was boot into FC6, and suddenly my resolution is now 800x600. Beryl runs perfectly now and uses the full screen. Now if only I could get my damn ATI drivers working, then it would be able to run everything without the occasional slowdowns I get...-ZorakP.S.
