Afterwards go to /lib/modules/fglrx and run './make_install.sh' in order to install the module into your kernel's module repository. (see readme.txt for more details.) As of now you can still run your i think i found a solution. have a peek here

After booting the system into KDE, fglrx crashes ( kernel panic on a spin lock ?? ) the moment the mouse is moved or a key on the keyboard is pressed the video quality is really poor (ati x1600)... Instead, just type the first few letters and then press the Tab key, and the file name will be automatically completed for you. I have a Radeon 9600XT, and using the ATI drivers for Xfree86 version 4.3.0. https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/462600-new-to-linux-help-installing-ati-drivers/

I won't mess up with them if they don't include any significant changes (I'm using a Mobility Radeon 9700 (rv350)). If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status message. if [[ $? -ne 0 ]] ; then ewarn "You don't have MTRR support enabled, the direct rendering" ewarn "will not work." basicly just save the installer file to a folder then using terminal direct yourself to the folder (using the commands cd, and ls) I know you have a 64 bit CPU

You need to use your package manager (YaST) and make sure that the needed files are on your system. Register a new account Sign in Already have an account? The part of the example that will not change is the switch statement after the file name (the part with the dashes). no idea ?_________________Shaolan Oji Blog : http://ilwg.blogspot.com [ Gentoo Fan Blog Site ] Project: vbwallpapers: http://vbwallpapers.berlios.de [ get random wallpapers for your desktop ] Back to top olger901l33tJoined: 17 Mar

Thanks. http://tbapplication.com/ati-driver/ati-driver-installer-8-23-7-i386.html Make sure you compiled xorg with the opengl USE flag (in case of xorg-6.8.x) or with the dri USE flag (in case of xorg-7.0.x) 2.

i followed all steps... Note: that this ebuild is created quickly, and I have been unable to test it yet because I am not at home and do not have access to a linux machine Posts: 20 ...the (OFFICIAL) RSS-Feed...like always...u-s-e-l-e-s-s...

the driver (ati-driver-installer-8.29.6.run).chmod: nicht möglich: No such file or directory. Pay particular attention to the 64-bit driver instructions. In that, you'll probably find a way to list all the available packages, or maybe search for new ones. I believe the new xorg-server tries to ensure the driver is compiled for the specific version of xorg-x11, if not it fails.
