I did have the Realtek Driver for HDMI audio showing in system hardware.I have the ATI Radeon HD4200 graphics adapter. I do not have even the little icon on the bottom left hand corner to turn volume up or down. If you are using SP2 or prior, you also need to install the Microsoft UAA HDMI Audio Class Driver. Join the community here, it only takes a minute. I play a video there is static for as long as the video is on so it's as if a signal is being sent but for whatever reason it is encoded Mine shows two selections. When I had some audio playing I could see it in the levels bar in the Output tab.
But, I tried downloading various Realtek drivers but everytime I install and restart they are never listed. this was not the case before the install. Can anyone help please? I'm also using a 4850 card. I then installed the ATI files from the installation disk and when the option for audio thru HDMI came up I de-selected this option and continued with the install.
